Description

The Level IIIA FAST Helmet is designed to offer high-throughput, reliable protection against fragments and ballistic threats. It is durable, water-resistant, and UV-resistant, ensuring longevity and performance in various conditions. The helmet features a polymer shell that provides flexibility for additional equipment and maintains a VISO-based design. It includes an internal padding system made of memory foam that creates an impact buffer, enhancing comfort and safety.

The helmet is tested to NIJ Level IIIA standards, providing protection against .44 Magnum and 9mm rounds, with fragmentation V50 ranging from 500-700 m/s. Available in colors such as Black, Green, and Tan, it comes in sizes M, L, and XL to accommodate different head circumferences. The helmet is lightweight, with the regular version weighing between 3.3 to 3.6 lbs. and the upgraded version slightly lighter.

NIJ LEVEL IIIA (.44 Magnum; Submachine Gun 9mm):

This armor protects against .44 Magnum, Semi Jacketed Hollow Point (SJHP) bullets with nominal masses of 15.55 g (240 gr.) impacting at a velocity of 426 m/s (1,400 ft/s) or less and against 9mm full-metal jacketed bullets with nominal masses of 8.0 g (124 gr.) impacting at a velocity of 426 m/s (1,400 ft/s) or less. It also provides protection against most handgun threats as well as the Level I, IIA, and II threats. Level IIIA body armor provides the highest level of protection currently available from concealable body armor and is generally suitable for routine wear in many situations. However, departments located in hot, humid climates may need to evaluate the use of Level IIIA armor carefully.
